There are a bizillion ideas for great Advent Calendars so there are a few posted below. I think the main idea is to foster that expectation. The calendar itself can be as simple as a row of red numbered disposable cups lined up on top of the kitchen cupboards. Or 24 large envelopes with a decoration of beautiful Christmas paper.
I also like the ideas of Day 4 to put inside each day. Some sites suggest putting a piece or two of Lego in each day rather that it just be about chocolate or lollies. (That’s just for mumma’s daily treat.) I think we’ll just be mixing it up with Advent Action Cards, small treats from a ‘two dollar’shop (like twisted drinking straws, mini bouncy balls, stickers and badges) and small amounts of sugar.
